I would have never guessed it, though it shouldn't surprise me. You are always comfortable on the stage. But that's a neat story. I chuckle at the thought of you riding to a gig in a hearse! I guess you got a head start in 'dying to self'.

I want to see a picture of you with big spiked hair. I might even be willing to pay for first publishing rights :)

Hahahaha! As one who used to play the guitar in a country music band (even though I hated country music--it was the only way I could be on TV every week!), I know the pain of developing guitar callouses! I haven't played in years and occasionally considering playing again. But between the pain of developing callouses again having to cut my fingernails that short, I have a feeling it's not gonna happen!

BTW, after I left the country music band, I spent several years in a rock band, riding to gigs in a hearse! How's that for a picture of becoming a new creation? :-)

Yep. So many good intentions, so little time to do them! If they would just quick staring when we walked by, we could ignore them.

Loved this post Eddie! Made me laugh and I can identify! I've always played the piano...learned only classical music from the time I was eight right through college. I always wanted to play the guitar because it looked like so much fun. So...a few years ago I bought one. It stares at me from a corner too. I've bought books, taken tutorials on the computer, and taken a few lessons, and I've come to one realization...that's one dream I'm going to have to live through my kids. Now they are taking lessons.

Sorry for the mistake, the word is "slowly." I'm lagally blind. I have a little bit of sight, like I'm "looking through a keyhole," hence the name of my book.

Thank you for your feedback. I have been doing my own marketing. How can I judge my performance? How many books sold would be considered good, fair or poor. I’ve had 12 book discussions and signings in five months. I sell to 50% of the attendance. I’ve had one TV taping to be aired in January, four news paper articles written about my book. One by a famous columnist, and next week I have a radio interview, by the same person. How am I doing and what groups would I join and how do I find them. My book is my struggle as I'm slowing losing my sight from an inherited eye disease. Thanks for your help.

You've written a fun, touching account, beautifully crafted. I could picture being there with you and your grandfather. Your memories blessed me.

Thanks Vonda. Reflecting on those fond memories is one thing I like about the holidays. We definitely miss our loved ones, but the memories are treasures.

Thanks for your note!

Eddie, your story brought tears to my eyes. Not only for the special relationship of you and your grandpa, but for me and my daddy as well. He made our family gathering a time of laughter and "rememories." Every Christmas there's a few moments of tears as I remember and miss him. He was a one in a million daddy, and I'm so blessed to have had him. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
